Who We Are
House of Refuge Sunnyslope helps people who come from incarceration, addiction, and unemployment get back on their feet. We meet their physical needs for food, shelter, and safety.
But our true passion is to pave the way for transformation by helping them learn practical life skills, engage in community, and provide them a home of restoration while sharing God's promise of an eternal home.
What We Do

Love.
We embody the love of Jesus Christ by offering more than just help—we provide hope, belonging, and purpose. Every person who walks through our doors is met with compassion, dignity, and the unwavering truth that they are deeply loved by God.

House.
A safe place to rebuild starts with a Christ-centered home. Through our programs for single men, single women, and moms with children, we provide stable housing for up to two years. Residents work full-time, contribute to their stay, and follow a Vision for Victory plan—helping them regain stability, purpose, and a thriving future rooted in faith.

Equip.
True transformation goes beyond housing. We help residents find jobs, build life skills, and grow in faith through Bible studies and mentorship. With personalized guidance and support, we equip them to break cycles of brokenness and step confidently into the life God has for them.

Vision for Victory
Vision for Victory is a plan to experience a resilient, Christ-focused, and thriving life.
"But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." — 1 Cor 15:57

Serving the Homeless with Faith and Purpose
Since 1988, House of Refuge Sunnyslope has been a beacon of transformation, providing housing, food, training, and mentorship to those seeking a better life. Rooted in faith, we go beyond meeting basic needs—we show Christ’s love in action, helping men, women, and children rebuild with dignity and hope. From humble beginnings in a church gym to serving over 120 individuals today, our mission remains the same: to restore lives through grace, stability, and the power of community.
